Here we are...the 1st day at Bibi Jann's....really exciting to finally be here and see Fatuma again and meet some of the bibis and the children at the school. The grandmothers were extremely welcoming and interested in beginning the program. We visited the classrooms and I was asked by Fatuma to lead a special group meeting with the older girls, the "smart girls" and their teacher. We discussed the issues they face as young women in this society and their own aspirations. They truly enjoyed role plays and the discussion that followed. Here are some of the first day photos...
